Writing content for SEO Optimization

There has been an evolving consensus about how to best write your content to please Google and therefore get a higher search engine ranking.

You may remember the days when the “experts” claimed that your article must be keyword dense and structured in 4 exact paragraphs, each containing the keyword 3-4 times.  There were precise instructions on how to please Google.  I think it even worked for awhile.

But the problem was that it created a bunch a jumbled posts that no regular person wanted to read.  While the webmaster was busily trying to please Google, they forgot that the true customer on the Internet is not a search engine but rather just an ordinary person out there in the world looking for information.

So while writing keyword dense articles was a successful SEO tactic for awhile, Google soon caught on and changed the algorhythms.  No longer was it safe for your SEO efforts to optimize your sites for keywords.  Many webmasters found this out the hard way as they saw their hard work relegated to the dreaded “Supplemental Results” or worse banned from Google completely. The question then became “what do we do now?”

Well, consider this.  Google wants to please “Mr. John Q. Public” (or Ms. Public, you know).  Google wants to provide good content that the average person on the street can benefit from.  So how do you please Google?  By remembering who the Ultimate user is.  It’s not a search engine but rather it’s just an average person searching for information.
