We are taught that everything in your life depends on making money, yet we are seldom given further direction. The common myth is that the more education you pay for, the more riches you will enjoy after graduating college. In reality, it is closer to the truth to say, the more knowledge you obtain and resources you have available to you, the more money you will make. But even with all the knowledge and resources in the world at your finger tips, there are still many factors that play a part your future fortune.
Motivation- Your upbringing, your circumstances, and most importantly, those you associate with, play a major role in your motivation for wealth. The people who raised you as a child and young adult “set the standard” for your future expectations. Whether you know it or not, everything that currently drives you toward success, is derived from a past expectation. If you have certain expectations, you are motivated to set goals and achieve them. Conversely, you will never find motivation to fulfill expectations you do not have.
Seldom does anyone say, “Whatever I had as a child or young adult is all I want and expect for my future.” As an adult, we need to continually expect more from our future. Throughout life, your motivations are also affected by events. Through events and new experiences, your expectations and motivations change. Circumstances, positive and negative, can also dramatically affect your motivation. For example, if you are from a poor background, you may be highly motivated to surpass that lifestyle. A paradigm shift is often needed to visualize your desired lifestyle.
If you are from a more fortunate background, out of sheer apathy, often you are not motivated to achieve success, although some people are motivated by competition within the family. All of these factors make up your history and effect future motivation. Reflect and take note of what motivates you throughout your journey to success. Continuously set the bar higher and seek motivation for the success you desire…and it will be achieved.
Focus- Once motivated, you will need laser focus to achieve your goals. Human nature says you will periodically lack the focus you strive to achieve, but never stop trying! While you may have many aspirations, your ability to focus on each one individually is very important. Refer to your list of goals and systematically complete a set of tasks for each goal in order. Creativity and originality has its place in achieving success, but not here. If you really want to make money easily, think of your success as a machine and all of the parts have to not only work, but also be put together and combined in the correct places. Lists, flow charts, diagrams, mind maps all will help you stay focused on each goal.
Execution- Once motivated and focused, your primary goal is execution. Achieving a combination of goals will enable you to make money easily and achieve massive success. For some, this is a lifelong mission. For others, achieving success on a daily, weekly, or yearly timeline is desirable. Whatever your timeline may be, you need to have the ability to execute the work, which means having the know how and resources available. Motivation and focus is not enough and relying on these parts of the puzzle is often the downfall of achieving success. In fact, part of the process of focusing and setting goals, is knowing what information and resources you need. Of course, you can spend tens of thousands of dollars gathering knowledge and valuable resources, but the internet is a vast free resource for pretty much anything you need. One key point is to identify a mentor or mentors. Study successful people and how their experience relates to yours. You can often find a clear path to your success.
Through motivation, focus, and execution, you can find the success you want and deserve. Be careful not to underestimate your expectations. It all begins with reflection of your daily thoughts and self-image. Having said all this, making money easily and achieving ultimate wealth really goes back to one of the oldest clichs in history. Expect great things and great things will come!
