Some Tips To Minimize The Stress Of Rushing Early In The Morning

A stressful time of day in many households is the early morning hours before the kids have to get off to school. Everyone is scrambling to get dressed, eat, make lunch, and find their backpacks. Parents can help lesson this tension with some preplanning.

One method is to attack the problem at bed time on the previous night. Have the kids lay out their clothes they will wear in the morning. You can also have them double check their books and bags to make sure it is all there. The parent can take this time to make lunches.

If you are on a tight schedule, school days are not the time for a three course hot breakfast. Save that for the weekend. Stock up on easy to prepare breakfast meals such as cereal, yogurt, nuts and breakfast bars.

Kids can even serve themselves fortified cereals as well as yogurt and fruit. Unfortunately, a hot meal is not going to be on the menu but the kids will be well fed and on time.

If breakfast is done and everything is prepared it is then the parent’s prerogative if they want to turn on the television if there is any remaining time.

In order that everyone can find their own stuff, designate a space for each child’s stuff somewhere in the house.

Now that you have designated a space for the kids’ items, you will want to make sure that space is used the best in can be. Proper sized hooks and a place like a hallway for coats and jackets will help. Baskets to hold smaller items will help the child from looking for his school identification card, lunch card, and keys in the morning.

The stress of the morning rush can be almost overwhelming. One of the best things a parent can do is find a moment alone to relax. This added focus can help one get through the morning.
