The iPod Touch Second Generation (16 GB) Review

July 31, 2009 by Larry Williams · Leave a Comment

Apple recently refreshed the iPhone and iTouch lines with the World Wide Developer’s Conference. A number of minor improvements were made to the iPod Touch that got lost in the hubbub over the iPhone 3GS. If you haven’t looked at the iPod touch, it’s worth your while to do so, particularly in its newest incarnation.

Where the iPod Touch and the iPhone differ is in their ability to make cellular phone calls, and use AT&Ts 3G network. Both devices are still capable of playing nearly any kind of media format known to mankind, and have the same user interface that Apple has made famous with the iPhone commercials.

If you are interested in the new iPod touch, you will be happy to know that Apple has introduced two excellent features to this device. The first is that the iPod has a volume control that is external and the other is the internal speaker.

As a music player, the iPod touch is excellent. It’s got great sound quality, and because it doesn’t have to share space inside the body with a cell phone antenna, the speakers have gotten a much more vibrant response. It plays back audio better than the iPhone does.

As with all Apple products, the industrial design is excellent. The iPod touch has the same sleek design as the iPhone does, with a steel back and the clear, uncluttered face. The user interface options are as rich as the iPhone’s is, and the ability to surf the web on any WiFi connections makes it the mobile device for people who want to check things out on the go. It’s a little lighter weight than the iPhone as well. And the higher end speakers meant that if you aren’t listening through the headphones it’s going to be an attention-getting device.

One of the other reasons for the improved audio performance of the iPod touch is because it doesn’t have to scale things back to accommodate a cellular phone radio. However, other additions in the second generation device are worthy of note - there’s more memory on the device - 16 gigs allows for a lot of storage of video and audio.

Whether it’s classical, rock or punk, the iPod touch will handle all the dynamic range of the music - from the clearest cymbals to the richest horns to the sharpest bass notes. Whatever it is, your iPod touch can handle the quality and make you proud.

Whatever music you listen to - or whatever movies you watch, the iPod touch is a lust-worthy gadget. It’s something that most technical people enjoy, and it does more than any other iPod out there. The concept of the iPod has evolved, and this is the shape of media players to come.

George “The Possum” Jones

July 31, 2009 by James G. Pynn · Leave a Comment

If you know, then you know. If you don’t know, then you should. George Jones was one of the hardest drinking, fastest living son of a guns in all of country music history. Admittedly living a life modeled after his hero, Hank Williams, George Jones blazed a trail of infamy and heartache across the wide-open plains of country music history. Known for his distinctive voice and loose phrasing style, the exploits of George Jones have passed from mere stories into legend.

It’s true: according to Country Music Television, Jones is the “the greatest living country singer” today. In true George Jones style, I’m sure hed say something to the effect, “it’s the living part that’s tricky.” His clever turn of phrases and unusual vocal style can best be sampled on such legendary hits as “Hello Walls” and “If the Drinkin’ Don’t Kill Me.” Then again, all of his songs carry that signature sound.

Of course Jones was famously married to Tammy Wynette. This marriage made in madness was the stuff of legend, often requiring the services of the local sheriff to help them mediate. Of course that’s a fancy word for “cool off.” Between his drinking problem and her drug addiction, it was not the high point of marital bliss for either one of them, When it all came crashing down in 1975, no one was surprised.

Despite being in to his seventies now, George Jones has not stopped recording or touring. Indeed, he is on tour this summer and is coming to a local gin joint near you. Though there might no be as much pep in his step, his voice is as rich and full as ever. No one can turn a song like The Possum. For those of you not in the know, that’s his nickname.

It has never been easier to get your hands on a pair of George Jones tickets. You just have to follow the links to the best little booking service around. Don’t wait until the last minute and fall prey to the scalpers. Get a great ticket at a fair price and sleep well at night. But do it quick, because the Possum is not on tour for long.

Fans of Michael Jackson Cause Poster Sales to Soar

July 31, 2009 by Shelly Mannington · Leave a Comment

Visitors to eBay looking at Michael Jackson memorabilia in the weeks leading up to his death, would have been able to by Michael Jackson posters from as little as just one cent. If you were to complete a similar search today, just three weeks later, the story would be somewhat different.

Since the tragic death of the man that gave the world the Moonwalk, it is unsurprising that any and all memorabilia connected to Michael Jackson has jumped in value. Fans the world over clamor to have one final memento of the man and his music, whilst others hope their early purchases will increase further in value, as the outpouring continues.

For one company in the UK, this sudden boost has resulted in sales approaching two million in the three weeks since the death of the entertainer. So rapid has been this surge, and with demand increasing daily, extra staff to support the fifty permanent employees have quickly been taken on.

The extra staff at Pyramid International has been to simply sort through the orders coming in; and even then it has been necessary for staff to come in at the weekend to ensure prompt processing.

Despite Pyramid only holding exclusivity across the United Kingdom; their order book is bursting with sales from the United States and Australia, as well as closer to home European sales, due to their readiness with supply.

The biggest sellers have been the hastily redesigned “This Is It” tour posters. The three commemorative posters were initially produced in celebration of his farewell performances in the O2 Arena in London. That these are now being sold as a final farewell is poignant.

This is not an isolated story; far from it. It is the most poignant though; considering Jackson, and his advisors, decided to use London’s O2 arena in the UK to re-launch his career instead of his native US.

It is not just the private companies that are making a profit from the untimely death of the King of Pop however. Whilst a high number of fans frantically try to get one final memento; one final celebration of the man, there are an equally significant number seeing the possibility of cashing in on their collections. Indicative not only of his appeal, but also how years of rumor and scandal have tarnished the man once cast in gold.

If you are willing to sell some of your old Michael Jackson posters, or some other memorabilia, it could be a welcome boost to help buy his unreleased music that is set to hit stores in the lead up the Christmas Holiday period this year.

Your Passions

July 31, 2009 by Steven R Shaw · Leave a Comment

To make money online many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don’t just jump right in unprepared.

Oh sure, there’s plenty of people out there that would have you believe it’s as easy as 1-2-3. You just follow these three simple steps and “presto chango” you’re in the money.

But of course, if you compare it to going to work everyday like the rest of the world, having to listen to a boss that gripes at everything you do, and not being free to do what you want, well then, yes, it is a cake walk. But there are steps involved that must be followed to assure your success.

Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?

My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, “what comes first the chicken or the egg”? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion - I have no clue and I don’t think many of us do either.

The thing is, one of the main ingredients to success at anything is passion. Passion for what you are pursuing. You have to make a decision that today and everyday you’re going for it with all the gusto you’ve got!

Passion in this sense simply means that you’ve researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.

Oh sure, there are a few dudes out there that just seem to be able to sell anything, and never need to bother with something like needing passion. But the thing is, ninety nine point nine percent of the people out there simply must have this key ingredient to live the life of their dreams.

No, passion isn’t the only thing necessary to achieve success. To be successful online, you must have a good website, good sales ability, a whole lot of advertising, great support, quality keywords, etc. Those things typically come from the company you join, but without tossing this thing called passion in, you’ll get burned out.

So you’ve got the website, you’ve got the sales copy, etc., but just make sure you’ve got the passion to see you through the rough spots that come with any business venture.

Making money online really isn’t all that difficult or time consuming. In fact, it’s quite a lot of fun most of the time. But then there are those times when you’ve got to dig down deep and dip into that reservoir of passion to pull you through when things don’t go the way you planned.

For starters, a fantastic tool for your online success is already at your disposal, and it’s all one hundred percent free. This tool is making people millions, because they know the value of quality research and how to apply it to their business. You know it’s Google, of course.

Using Google you can find the company that will provide all the things you need. You can find a company with a solid foundation, with great ethics, it’s laid out in a simple manner, and has the products that can make you passionate. The right opportunity is there with the attributes just mentioned, but don’t just settle for anything.

And just because the latest internet guru is doing it, doesn’t mean it will be all roses for you. Remember they can sometimes just about sell anything and not have passion. Dig down deep and make sure it’s a product you can believe strongly in.

Note: By the way it’s your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed.

And just to reiterate a very important point, if you don’t find a product you can be passionate about, all the other steps can bring just frustration and confusion

So make sure you’ve got passion to avoid the major roadblock that most people face when starting out online.

Saving Marriage Tips For Marital Problems

July 31, 2009 by Roy Anderson · Leave a Comment

When your husband or wife and yourself are having difficulties, then saving marriage advice is likely your first priority. If you do not want your marriage to come to an end, then you may have to fight for it. It is not as difficult as you might think, but it will require some serious effort. If you are willing to follow the advice presented in this article, you may be able to keep a painful divorce from taking place at all.

The first thing you need to do is make sure you spend some time together. Quality time with one another is a good way to open up the lines of communication again. After all, a breakdown in communication is a key cause of most marriage problems.

The second thing that may help you is making time for romance. Write a love letter to your husband or wife. Let him or her know that you still care. That can be incredibly vital. If your spouse does not know that you still care, that can account for plenty of your problems.

You have to make sure that you keep your relationship open and fresh, which is what happens to a lot of relationships, they fail because all of the excitement drains out of them, so make sure that you definitely keep up the excitement.

Compliments are another thing that a lot of people take for granted. Most of the time, when a marriage is failing, both spouses feel self conscious and they definitely do not like who they are and how they look. If you give a compliment to your spouse, you will absolutely feel great about yourself and he/she will feel incredible as well.

Finally, it is pretty obvious that work is the most important thing in a lot of people’s lives and that is not the way that it should be. You want to make sure that you are putting your marriage first and your spouse first. A simple thing like telling them you love them and looking them in the eye can really, really make a huge amount of difference, so make sure that you do that - often.

Saving marriage from divorce may seem difficult - and it can be. Sometimes therapy can go a long way, sometimes the two of you can work things out on your own. The important thing to remember is that it takes patience, determination, and lots of love.
